I have mixed feelings about them. They are plenty sticky, at least out of the gates, but you certainly lose a touch of responsiveness / crispness in the corners. I kinda regret not spending the extra money and going with the 888s.

In summary, the R1Rs were an improvement over the stock tyres which on the 86 are either Yokohama Decibels or Michelin Primacy HPs, both of which I’ve run on my car. And by “improvement” I mean grip, a fair bit more of it in any conditions – although we never ran them on gravel.

R1R's will wear quicky on the street and prone to punctures In the category of for what it is worth, I thing the R1R's are too soft for real street use. I've driven them from track to gas station and back and they pick up shrapnel quick.

i use r1r's for wet only,excellent and amazing grip compared to r888 in the wet.but in the dry found if you push them too hard they overheat and become useless,not even that good from cold,compared to r888.

i have these as my fronts. Can't say too much for treadlife as i have only used em for 4k miles so far. I love these tires. The tread looks very aggressive, they handle rain pretty good and provide me with great grip trying to drift.
