This is my second review of these Kumho Solus Tires and the longer we drive on these tires the worse it gets, just yesterday, we rounded a curve and the front end again locked up putting the front end in a short slide.

I am very pleased with the tires I purchased here. They are nice and quiet and handle well. Haven't had them in rain or snow yet but I'm sure they will do fine. So far they have exceeded my expectations.

The Solus TA71 is an all-season tire, so I did test it during a late-season cold snap with some light snow and icy patches. Let me be straightforward: it handles light snow adequately but not exceptionally. On ice, all bets are off.

I have nothing bad to say in terms of comfort. The Kumho Solus TA71 was comfortable on the highway, and it enabled the car to ride gracefully over pockmarked city roads.

Only have about 300+ miles on these tires. Overall I am satisfied with the tires. I will be being again if the treadlife is good. Oh, forgot to mention the ride noise is virtually nonexistent.

The Kumho Solus TA71 gave me superb grip and traction. In my opinion, the AWD nature of my test car is a perfect fit for the Solus TA71. The steering was also meaty and the cornering grip was commendable. However, it’s a different story when you approach a tight corner at speed.

I tested the TA71 through several rainstorms, including a heavy downpour on I-95 that had me white-knuckling the wheel regardless of what tires I was running. In moderate rain, the Solus TA71 felt reassuring. The four circumferential grooves do their job channeling water, and I never experienced unexpected hydroplaning at highway speeds.

Even on the low-profile 235/40R19 fitment — which can be punishing on rough roads — the TA71 absorbed expansion joints, potholed stretches, and rough patches with impressive composure. I drive regularly on some notoriously rough roads in the Northeast, and the tire soaked up imperfections without transmitting harsh jolts through the cabin.

At highway speeds, the TA71 is one of the quietest tires I’ve tested in the sub-$150 price range. There’s a faint, even hum that blends into the background — nothing approaching the drone or whine that cheaper tires often produce. On smooth asphalt, it’s nearly silent.

I can definitely echo all the other bad reviews of these tires. I'm at less than 2 years and 22,000 miles on a 60,000 mile warranty tire, and they are completely shot (2/32 depth on the front, 3/32 on the back). They also started making horrible road noise after a few thousand miles.
