On the highway the X/T was quiet, directionally predictable, round (balance weight averaged 2.3 ounces), and fuel economy increased by 6.3 percent over my previous dogs.

After airing up, we hit the road back to Portland where the X/Ts—despite their off-road prowess—behaved like regular street tires. Road noise could be likened to factory equipment, and grip wasn’t a worry even as torrential downpours followed us down the Columbia River Gorge.

From the outset, the X/T was notably quiet. Road noise was all but imperceptible, and the Wrangler Duratracs currently fitted to my own truck are significantly louder.

Overall, I’ve loved having these tires on my rig. The biggest compliment I can give them is that I just don’t think about them. They’re on my truck and do the job with little consideration from me. That’s the best we can ask for, right?

As we speak, my truck is sitting on an ice slick, making me consistently nervous. My driveway is not kind and is heavily sloped, and it isn’t uncommon to walk out in the morning and see that my truck has slid from where I parked it back about 20 yards or so.
